One of Canada's most successful and celebrated rock musicians will take the stage at this year's Rock the Park.
It was announced Thursday morning that Neil Young will headline the festival on Saturday, July 13. He'll be joined by his longtime band, Crazy Horse.
Also playing on the Saturday will be Alan Doyle of (Great Big Sea) and The Sheepdogs.
“When we were creating Rock the Park back in 2003, never in my wildest dreams did I think we would be celebrating our 20th anniversary with one of the world’s most iconic artists, Neil Young with Crazy Horse," said Brad Jones, president of Jones Entertainment Group. "It is truly an honour for our festival to have Neil and his team select us to be one of his six Canadian dates this summer."
The 78-year-old Young has had an incredible career, both as a solo artist and as a member of Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. He is a multiple Grammy Award and Juno Award winner and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Young's career has seen him release several albums that achieved platinum status, including "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere", "After the Gold Rush", "Harvest", "Comes a Time", "Rust Never Sleeps", and "Harvest Moon".
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 7.
