Charges have been laid against a St. Thomas man after another man was threatened and assaulted in the city over the weekend.
St. Thomas police were called about a disturbance in the area of Ross and Talbot streets on Sunday. When officers arrived, they found a man who said he had been threatened by an acquaintance.
A suspect was arrested nearby, police said.
A 54-year-old St. Thomas man is charged with one count each of uttering threats and assault with a weapon. He has been released from police custody with a future court date.
Police did not disclose the type of weapon used in the assault.
