The London Knights have won the Hamilton Spectator Trophy.
The team finished first overall in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) standings to take the trophy as the 2024 regular season champions. They clinched their spot atop the OHL with a 3-0 win over the Guelph Storm on Sunday.
The Knights closed out the regular season on a seven-game win streak and with a 50-14-1-3 record.
This is the seventh time in franchise history the Knights have taken the Hamilton Spectator Trophy, which is awarded annually by the OHL to the team that finishes the regular season with the best record. The Knights previously took the title in 2013, 2012, 2007, 2006, 2005, and 2004.
Forward Easton Cowan also extended his franchise record-long point streak to 36 games on Sunday, the third-longest run in Canadian Hockey League history since 2000. He got a goal and an assist in the game against the Storm.
