A 44-year-old man is facing charges after a St. Thomas resident was harrassed and had their home broken into over the weekend.
St. Thomas police were called about a break and enter at the home in the south end of the city on Saturday morning. When they arrived they found a person had forced their way inside by breaking a door to the residence. Officers also learned the homeowner had been sent hundreds of unwanted messages from a man prior to the break-in.
A suspect was identified and arrested.
A 44-year-old man is charged with breaking and entering and harassing communications. He has been released from police custody with a future court date.
The accused and the victim were known to each other, police said.
