'Holy cow': London retiree wins $119K

A London man turned $3 into more than $119,191 with a Poker Lotto All In ticket.

Clifford Murphy went "all in" to win the $114,191.10 jackpot on May 9. He also claimed the $5,000 instant portion of the ticket to bring his total winnings to $119,191.10.

"I went into the store to have a few instant tickets validated and decided to play a Poker Lotto All In,” the retiree said while collecting his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto. “I looked up at the screen and was processing what I was seeing, when a customer behind me said, ‘holy cow! You just won!’ I was in shock and complete awe.”

Murphy said he has been playing the lottery for nearly 25 years, but this is his first big win.

"It took a week or two for it to sink in. It felt almost like getting a hole in one," said Murphy. "This win is awesome and unbelievable. I feel good, very good.”

Murphy plans to treat himself to a little vacation and cover some of his "responsibilities."

The winning ticket was purchased at the Hasty Market on Belmont Drive in London.
