One suspect has been arrested and another is still being sought in an incident that saw homes in Delhi hit with gunfire earlier this week.
Norfolk OPP, with the assistance of Brantford police, searched a home on Jamison Court in Brantford on Wednesday. There they found a black 2016 Ford Escape SUV believed to have been involved in the shooting two days prior.
It was Monday night when gunshots were fired at homes on Talbot Road and Queens Street in Delhi. Witnesses reported seeing a black SUV with a man and woman inside in the area. The man was reportedly driving. The pair left the area briefly before returning with the firearm, which was fired from inside the vehicle, police said.
Officers called to the scene to investigate found evidence a gun was discharged, with exterior damage to the homes apparent.
Police released photos of the suspect vehicle and woman publicly.
A 24-year-old woman from Brantford was arrested in connection with the incident at an Elgin Street home in the city on Wednesday night. She is charged with six offences including unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, occupying a vehicle knowing there was a firearm, and discharging a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner.
Investigators are continuing the search for the man involved. He is described as Caucasian, approximately 20-30-years-old, and was wearing a hat, sunglasses, a black balaclava, and a white shirt at the time of the incident.
