Wanted federal offender nabbed in Tillsonburg

A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for allegedly violating his parole was arrested in Tillsonburg.

Sean Robertson, 37, had been wanted by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad since last Wednesday, when he is said to have breached the conditions of his statutory release. He is serving a five-year sentence for armed robbery, robbery with violence, possession of a weapon, flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle, theft of a vehicle, theft under $5,000, and failure to comply with a court order.

Police released Robertson's picture and description on Friday and warned the public that he was known to frequent London, Tillsonburg, Woodstock, Essex County, Simcoe, Brantford, Hamilton, and Niagara Falls.

Robertson was found in Tillsonburg and taken back into police custody on Sunday.

The Rope Squad offered its thanks to the public for the assistance in the investigation.
