New Huron Perth Community Trend Platform Planned

The United Way of Perth-Huron is asking Huron County for money to support a new Community Trend Platform.

Executive Director Ryan Erb explains the Community Trends concept is an attempt to find a way to provide aggregated, on-line data for the community.

Erb maintains there is a lack of information in Huron and Perth about key social issues. He adds getting more dynamic information and getting it more regularly would provide councils and organizations better information from which decisions could be made.

Communities that have employed a Community Trend Platform have been able to use that to leverage dollars for their community.

Erb says they're asking for $20,000. The request was passed on to Huron County staff to get more information and bring a report back to county council.
