North Perth Considers Public Works GPS system

North Perth's Manager of Operations is looking for approval to install a new GPS tracking system for public works vehicles.

Jamie Morgan says the "Fleet Complete GPS System" would automatically document what vehicles have been doing.

He says that means operators would no longer have to spend time hand writing the log books, and could spend more time on the roads.

Morgan says it cost $40. a month per vehicle with no up front capital investment.

Council has asked Morgan to compare the system with other tracking systems being used in the region, and report back.
