Hanover Police are asking for help to find a vehicle that hit a hydro pole on 7th Avenue south of the Hanover and District Hospital.
Police say it's believed the vehicle was northbound when it veered across the southbound lane, drove off the road and hit the pole around 8:30 last night.
The impact severed the pole at the base. Police say the vehicle got caught in the wires but managed to force its way out. It left the scene.
Police say 70 homes were left without power. The vehicle would have marks on the roof and/or hood from the wire.
Anyone with information is asked to call Hanover Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
Police also want to thank the members of the public who helped at the scene until emergency services arrived.
