Mayor Jim Ginn explains several local PUCs rented water heaters at one time, and Ontario Hydro still does, but he adds they haven't had any new customers for several years.
Ginn says as August 1st the municipality will give the water heaters to all of their current customers.
He points out that also mean when they get old it will be the responsibility of the customer to replace them.
