A major fundraising drive is being launched tonight in Wingham. It's called the "Building Bridges to Our Community" campaign.
The multi-phase project is for playground equipment at Maitland River Elementary School, environmental learning grounds at the school, and a refurbished track at F. E. Madill Secondary School. That track would be available to walking groups, and a field with lights would open the possibilities to nighttime soccer matches.
Playground equipment is the first phase of the multi-million-dollar effort.
Members of the Building Bridges committee will be making a significant announcement tonight. The information session is scheduled for 6pm at the Maitland River Elementary School.
