Participation Lodge Grey Bruce Workers Reject Tentative Deal

Developmental services workers at Participation Lodge Grey Bruce have voted against a tentative agreement.

According to OPSEU representatives, the contract called for the elimination of a shift premium for some of the workers.

More than half of the 50 employees are part-time or casual and a 13 per cent shift premium was at stake.

Participation Lodge is based in Holland Centre and provides services to individuals with developmental disabillities and acquired brain injury at the main lodge and in apartments in Owen Sound and Hanover.

Workers have been without a contract since March 31 of 2014.
