Southgate will continue to hound a local citizen’s group to pay its debt.
The group known as SPIRG suffered court awards following legal battles with Southgate. The group still owes the municipality more than $40,000.
Southgate decided to keep sending the group a letter every three months, noting the outstanding balance with the accumulating interest.
Southgate is also urging the group to release the name of its insurer in the hope that the money can be collected through that coverage.
Southgate Mayor Anna Marie Fosbrooke left the chair for the discussion, due to her past association with SPIRG.
