Contractors will begin work today in the water around the Owen Sound Wastewater Treatment Plant outfall pipe.
The work area will extend about 200 metres from the shore north of the community boat launch at the Bayshore Community Centre and east of Navigation buoy T-11.
That's well outside the navigation channel , and the work area will be marked by buoys. The buoys will also be lit at night.
A turbidity curtain will also extend from the outfall location back to the shore.
The boating public needs to give the work area a wide birth, and ensure speed is reduced to create little or no wake.
That will allow for marine construction and diving operations in an area about 500 metres north and south of Navigation Buoy T-11.
ODS Marine is undertaking the work, and will provide a daily Notice to Mariners as to the operation status of the project.
It is intended to complete the work prior to the beginning of Salmon Spectacular, which begins Friday, August 28, 2015.
