The Federal government announced funding today that will help Xplornet and Tuckersmith Communications improve wireless internet service in rural communities.
Huron-Bruce M-P Ben Lobb announced this morning at the Tuckersmith Communications office in Kippen that Xplornet would receive 1.1 million dollars and Tuckersmith will receive about 20-thousand dollars to improve service in a total of 33-hundred homes in Huron-Bruce.
Don Ticknor is a Manager with Xplornet Communications. He explains Xplornet is putting in over four million dollars to go with the Federal funding.
Rob Van Aaken is the General Manager with Tuckersmith Communications.
He says the Federal funding will allow them to put another wireless access site just outside of Blyth on the Millstone Elevator and that will help Tuckersmith improve its service north of Blyth and into Morris-Turnberry.
