Owen Sound Goods Exchange Day Set For Saturday

The City of Owen Sound is holding the second Goods Exchange Day of the year on Saturday.

Spokesman Chris Hughes says it's a fun way to divert usable items from the landfill, and saves the hassle of a garage sale.

Residents can place their unwanted but still usable items at the curb after 8am, with a white plastic bag tied to one of the items to let people know they're free for the taking.

People can tour the city and take anything they need from the curbside.

In the past, people have found sporting goods, furniture, small appliances, books, tools, toys, and even the kitchen sink.

Residents must remove any items left at the curb after 6pm.

Don't forget to drive carefully, and watch for pedestrians as you seek out bargains.
