OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway Contribute to Street Project

Some of the profits from the OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway are going toward Hanover's street reconstruction project.

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation has presented a cheque for $357,200 to the town for reconstruction of 13th Street from 13th Avenue to 16th Avenue.

The reconstruction will replace storm, sanitary and water services, and improve the road and sidewalks fronting Hanover Heights Community School. It's expected to be finished just before the school reopens in September.

The total cost of the capital project is about $550,000.

"OLG is especially proud of the relationship we have built in Hanover," said Jake Pastore, OLG’s Director of Municipal and Community Relations. "Since the opening of OLG Slots at Hanover Raceway in 2001, OLG has provided more than $13 million in hosting funds. From healthcare, to education, to community infrastructure, OLG proceeds are hard at work in Hanover and all across our province. We also appreciate the contribution of our slot employees in making life in the community that much richer."
