Huron County councillors have opted to put their investigation into county-wide OPP policing on hold.
CAO Brenda Orchard explains a council member had heard discussion about a possible OPP governance review coming up next year.
Orchard says after several phone calls she was able to work her way up the ladder until she got to the assistant deputy minister who was able to confirm that a review was slated for next year.
"We thought it would be prudent to wait until that review is done, but he did want me to ensure council that whatever process they undertake will include public consultation, will be transparent, and they'll have a chance for input, " Orchard tells CKNX News.
Council voted to look at the cost of OPP policing in February of 2014.
