Bluewater council is considering the purchase of a lighted speed sign that alerts motorists to their speed as they pass the sign.
Mayor Tyler Hessel says the municipality has used the one the CHIP group lends out to municipalities on several occasions and recently had a presentation on the results of its use in Hensall and Dashwood.
Hessel says a post-mounted sign would cost around six or seven-thousand dollars and a trailer-mounted sign would be about double that. The advantage of the trailer-mounted sign is it can moved from one location to another.
Hessel says they want to make sure the cost is justified, and it will be part of the 2016 budget discussion in Bluewater.
