Jr. A Team Could Come to Arthur

The Village of Arthur is being courted as the home for a Jr. A team in the breakaway Greater Metro Hockey League.

The Wellington North Recreation Committee was told by the league that it will require billets for players, daytime ice rental for practices, evening ice time for one game per week and a private dressing room.

The league averages 50 percent Canadian players, 25 percent U.S. and 25 percent from other countries.

Wellington North staff will talk to Orangeville, Shelburne and Markdale who already have teams.    There is concern that a Jr A team in the Village of Arthur would compete with the neighbouring Jr. C Patriots in Mount Forest.
