Former Liberal Defence Minister Visits Goderich

The former Liberal Minister of National Defence says the Stephen Harper government's policy on the war against ISIS has missed the mark.

John McCallum told supporters of Huron-Bruce candidate Allan Thompson at his office in Goderich Wednesday that a Liberal government would scrap the F-35 jet fighters.

McCallum says Canada doesn't need the 'Cadillac' of jet fighters, particularly a 'Cadillac' that won't do the job.

McCallum also claimed the Conservatives had done a deplorable job of accepting immigrants from the Middle East and said the Liberals would accept 25-thousand refugees immediately.

Allan Thompson says if elected,  he would be the voice of Huron-Bruce in Ottawa - not the voice of Ottawa in Huron-Bruce.

McCallum and Thompson and Liberal supporters then walked around the Square in Goderich, greeting people and talking with local businesspeople.
