New Board Members To Help Determine Future Of Bruce Telecom

The Municipality of Kincardine is moving ahead to fill vacant board of directors positions at Bruce Telecom after council decided to retain and support the enterprise.

The company is controled at arms length through a council appointed municipal services board, and four of the five appointed positions will open at the end of November.

CAO Murray Clarke calls it an exciting chance for residents to help with the investigation and selection of a new governance model.

The board, senior management, and council will work to develop long term strategic and capital plans.

A controversial plan to sell the utility to Eastlink was nixed by the Competition Bureau, and futher talks with the company failed to produce a deal.

Interested individuals need to submit a letter of application and resume by November 13.
