Brockton Council Will Look At Borrowing Money For New Soccer Fields

Brockton council will consider a by law tonight to borrow up to $1.28 million to finance the new soccer complex.

The municipality plans to borrow the money from the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce to fund the project.

Council awarded the tender for the new fields at East Ridge Business park during the summer, and a ground breaking ceremony was held in October.

Donations from businesses and the community topped $235,000 which allowed Brockton council to officially endorse the project last week. The plan is to build three full-sized fields and two mini-fields and to have them ready in July of next year. The winning tender for the project came in at $963,000.

Stantec is the designing firm and TDI Inc. is the contractor.
