Mackenzie Blackwood stopped all 25 shots he faced at Team OHL shut out Team Russia 3-0 in Game 3 of the Canada Russia Series in Owen Sound.
It was a packed house at the Lumley Bayshore for the international event with only standing room only tickets still available yesterday.
Spencer Watson lead the scoring for the host team with two. Dylan Strome had a goal and an assist. Watson opened the scoring just 34 seconds into the game, assisted by Travis McDermott.
Dylan Strome scored in the final minute of the frame on the power play to put Team OHL up 2-0. Strome was assisted by Listowel native Roland McKeown and Blackwood.
Owen Sound Attacker Thomas Schemitsch assisted on Watson's second goal of the game in the final minute of the second period.
The host team out shot the Russians 36-25. Russian players spent 24 minutes in the penalty box on 8 infractions. OHLer's had 14 minutes on 7 infractions.
