The Lakeshore United Church in Goderich is hosting a dinner tomorrow night to raise money for their Welcome Project which is welcoming a family of fourteen people from South Sudan to Goderich.
Reverend Kate Ballagh-Steeper explains there are options for three different meals and depending on which one you get you may get a receipt or it may be free, or you may get a traditional Sudanese meal prepared by Peter King of Thyme on 21.
Ballagh-Steeper adds they had hoped the family might be arriving this Friday night but have now found out that won't be the case. She says the family is still in their refugee camp but sometime very soon they'll travel to Nairobi for four or five days for a final briefing and medicals and then board their plan for Canada, and she expects that will happen within the next month.
The tickets for tomorrow night's dinner are thirty dollars each and can be reserved by calling the Lakeshore United Church on North Street at 524-2103
