Environment Canada has extended a snowfall warning and it now includes Grey, Welling, Huron, Perth, and Southern Bruce Counties.
The meteorological agency issued the following statement warning drivers to be prepared for winter driving conditions:
"Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.
Snow will begin this morning ahead of a low pressure system and become heavy at times by this evening. The heaviest amounts are expected over higher elevations.
The snow will taper off overnight as the low pressure system responsible moves towards Quebec. However, lake effect flurries are expected to develop on Sunday as cold westerly winds blow over Lake Huron. Additional accumulations are likely.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
