Bruce Power expects to play a key role in the Ontario Government's newly released climate change strategy. Bruce Power says they can provide reliable and affordable carbon free energy to help Ontario achieve its reduction targets. The provincial strategy was announced as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and provincial leaders prepare for next week's international climate forum in Paris. Bruce Power says a joint study they did with the Asthma Society of Canada found that the nuclear facility is the largest source of clean electricity in the province. Bruce Power restarted four dormant nuclear units over the past decade which the company says provided 70 per cent of energy needed for the province's efforts to phase out coal fired generation. Bruce Power also has a new online tool where you can find out how Bruce Power nuclear is helping meet Ontario's climate change targets. The company has also partnered with Plug'n Drive to support clean electrified transportation . 34 per cent of Ontario emissions come from the transportation sector, while only nine per cent of emissions come from electricity .
