Paving The Road For Donations In Huron County

Municipal road supervisors in Huron County has raised $50,000 to support local organizations.

The Huron County Roads Supervisors Association spent the past few weeks writing checks to support children's charities. The money was raised during a trade show that was held in South Huron in June which attracted 3,000 people.

“Since we are a county-wide professional organization, our executive committee made it our mandate to give to organizations that benefit the entire county,” says Sean Thomas, chair of the trade show organizing committee.

The money will be split among multiple organizations:

  • $28,000 for 28 school nutrition programs
  • $10,000 to the the Huron County Christmas Bureau
  • $10,000 to the Canadian Tire Jump Start Charity in memory of former Central Huron Road Foreman, Roger Cunningham
  • $2,000 for the SPCA Huron County
