Thursday was a very successful day for the Perth-Huron United Way's Care-A-Van of Hope.
A group of volunteers, supporters and staff travelled to Scotiabank branches across the two counties, riding on a chartered bus sponsored by Cherrey Bus Lines.
They made stops in St. Marys, Exeter, Goderich, Listowel, Milverton, Mitchell and Stratford and collected donations at each branch for the United Way.
Scotiabank helped the United Way raise a total of $88,932.
This amount includes the $15,000 Scotia match, and is $6,500 more than last year's total. This money goes toward the 2015-16 goal of $1.27-million, and a strong start toward a three-year goal of $4-million for the Perth-Huron United Way.
Campaign Chair Andrew Williams enjoyed the overall experience of the day.
"We had an incredible journey, visiting the vibrant towns in both counties, thanking donors that make United Way’s work possible, and hearing from our supported partners," he says.
