Free Christmas Dinner at Crabby Joe's in Listowel

Christmas is a time of giving, and one Listowel business owner is doing that.

For the past eight years, Crabby Joe's Tap & Grill in Listowel opens on Christmas Day for a few hours to provide a full Christmas dinner to those who would not otherwise get the chance to enjoy one.

Restaurant owner, Dean Darrah, says he has between 20 and 30 of his staff that volunteer for a few hours to put on the Christmas Dinner, complete with all of the traditional fixin's.

"It's been very successful," says Darrah. "We open the restaurant up just for this event and we usually end up with between twenty and thirty volunteers and sixty to a hundred people, most of the restaurant side is pretty much full."

Darrah says he serves up the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes stuffing and gravy and every year it goes off without a hitch.

The Crabby Joe's Annual Christmas Dinner is open to everyone and runs from 2pm until 4pm on Christmas Day.
