Another near miss has Perth County OPP warning drivers to beware of pedestrians.
The driver of a white Escalade turning onto Wallace Ave. N almost hit three pedestrians in Listowel last weekend Police say a father and two young children were crossing the street within the crosswalk on a green light.
The driver slammed on his brakes and stopped within feet of the family.
The near miss is one of many reported to Perth County OPP, and police say many more are never reported if no one is hurt.
A similar situation occurred in December in Shakespeare, and a driver was charged with failing to yield to pedestrians, while the victims needed to be treated for minor injuries.
Last January, a pedestrian in Listowel was struck by a pickup truck, and succumbed to her injuries.
Perth OPP urge drivers and pedestrian to keep safety in mind at all times, and to cross at intersections, or within a crosswalk. All vehicles must yield to pedestrians.
Parents and caregivers are asked to discuss safe crossing with children in their care.
