Local Hospital Foundations Celebrate Radiothon Success

Members of the CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon committee met Wednesday to celebrate their accomplishments.

For 14 years, local hospital foundations have come together to support the radiothon, and the total invested into local health care has exceeded $10-million.

The event started in 2001 and Dale Franklin, who is part of the Palmerston group, says they have a core organization that works hard to keep some consistency in the ever-changing needs that health care faces.

"It's a pretty exciting milestone to meet after 14 years of being together as a group. We can say $10-million has been pumped into local health care as a result of the radiothon, and it is an amazing accomplishment," states Franklin on Wednesday.

The 2015 campaign put the Health Care Heroes Radiothon over the $10-million mark.

Foundations involved in the 2015 Radiothon were from hospitals in Chesley, Clinton, Durham, Goderich, Hanover, Listowel, Mount Forest, Palmerston, Seaforth, Walkerton, and Wingham.
