No one was home at the time of the call and the report was called in by a passerby.
The house has been completely destroyed by the fire, with the cause yet to be determined. Fire officials say the blaze is not suspicious.
Damage is estimated at over $400,000.
The Fire Department of North Huron Blyth and Wingham and tankers from Central Huron and Huron East Seaforth responded.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
Both couples won in the April 11 draw.
