A Scarborough man has been charged after calling Owen Sound police to report that he was impaired and lost in extremely cold weather.
The man called officers on Sunday around 6:40am, and when officers arrived they discovered the man's vehicle stuck 100 m off the roadway, along the rail trail near Superior St. Police say the driver was travelling on a rural road when he slid off the trail and became stuck.
The man was arrested and brought to the Owen Sound police station for breath tests.
The 55-year-old Scarborough man is now charged with impaired care and control, and care and control of a vehicle with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. He will appear in court on February 25.
