The fire was on Mill Rd., near Hamilton Rd., and it happened Saturday night around 9:30pm.
Police say the home had been undergoing renovations and the owner was out of town visiting family.
The exact cause of the blaze hasn't been determined but it is not considered suspicious.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
