SVCA Warns Of Traditional Flooding And Cold Water

The Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority says stream and river water levels are rising in the watershed as the snow melts.

That is expected to continue into the weekend into main watercourses, but no significant flood is expected.

Double digit temperatures expected over the next week will continue to melt the snow left in forested and sheltered areas, but there is minimal rain in the forecast for the next few days.

Flooding will occur in traditional low lying flood plains, but extensive flooding is not expected.

Ice jams are also not anticipated as river ice has virtually all disappeared as well, but frigid water temperatures can be dangerous.
