Hanover Golf Course Ready For Early Open

It's still a little early for most golf courses in the area to open, but at least one area driving range is.

Owner Darrel Day says they're celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Ironwedge Target Greens Range in Hanover opening at 10am Saturday morning.

Day says it's almost a record; one day later than March of 2012 but is the shortest winter because the range was open until December 27.

Day also points out the Target Range is not a conventional driving range in that it's only 215 yards long and the emphasis is not on distance but on accuracy with all clubs. He explains they use the best equipment and highest quality golf balls to help a golfer practice hitting greens with all of their irons and landing close to the pins.

Day says they'll be open on Saturday from 10am until about 6:30pm, and after tomorrow as often and for as long as weather allows.

The Ironwedge Target Greens Range is located on Bruce Rd. 4 between Hanover and Walkerton.

One golf course that is opening Saturday is Ironwood in Exeter. It's walking only for $25.

The sand traps have been raked and the flags are in but greens have not been cut. Golfers are asked to go on their website to book a tee time for Saturday.
