The new public elementary school in Listowel will have a new name when it opens this fall.
It will be called the North Perth Westfield Elementary School.
A transition committee recommended that name to the Avon Maitland District School Board, and the board has approved it.
Students from Listowel Central, Listowel Eastdale, and Wallace Public Schools were part of the process to suggest names for the school, as well as school colours and team names.
The North Perth Westfield Elementary School is a consolidation of Kindergarten to Grade 8 students from Listowel Central Public School and Wallace Public School.
There will be an official opening in late August, and the school will receive it's first students in September.
