(BlackburnNews.com file photo)Perth County OPP's Crime Unit is investigating the death of a 22 month old child.
Police received a 9-1-1 call about a seriously injured child around 4:30 Monday morning, and responded to a home on Main Street in Atwood.
22 month old Owen Befurt was rushed to Listowel Memorial Hospital, and pronounced dead.
A post-mortem was conducted in London.
The investigation continues.
Hospitals in southwestern Ontario are feeling the effects of underfunding, according to a new report by the CCPA.
Fortunately, no children were on board the bus, but the drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was charged in March with sexual assault offences.
