Owen Sound police have arrested a man after he allegedly tried to steal a forklift Saturday afternoon.
According to police, several harbour area workers had been on break at around 1:30pm when a man suddenly hopped into the driver seat of a telescopic forklift on the harbour wall, and proceeded to drive away, southbound toward the downtown core.
Police say the workers gave chase and managed to bring the forklift to a halt, while the man fled the area.
A suspect was later arrested in the area.
A 27-year-old man, who is currently under probation related conditions, faces a number of charges including theft under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
