The mayor of Goderich points to the collaboration with all of the municipalities in Huron County as one of the achievements of the first 18 months of his term that gives him the greatest satisfaction.
Speaking at the annual Mayor's Luncheon in Goderich Thursday, Kevin Morrison says he believes all of the lower-tiers and the county are working together in a way that hasn't happened in the past.
Morrison stated that the opting out of Compass Minerals from the harbour expansion was one of the biggest disappoints, but adds the town is moving ahead and will now expand the harbour in stages, and he hopes to have an announcement about that in the near future.
Morrison adds construction of the new hotel and conference centre is something that will take time, but will be a great asset to the town and the county.
He's also very excited about the Ontario Small Urban Municipalities conference coming to Goderich next month. The OSUM conference will run from May 4-6, and will bring more than 120 delegates and their families to Goderich.
