Three people, including a 3-year-old girl, had to be taken to hospital after a horse-drawn buggy overturned southeast of Belmore.
The OPP say on Sunday just after 1pm, emergency crews responded to McIntosh Line after a piece of equipment failed on the buggy, causing the driver to lose control. The seating compartment of the buggy overturned, ejecting all eight of its occupants.
Five people were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Three others were sent to hospital and two have since been released. The youngest passenger, a 3-year-old girl from Howick, has been taken to a hospital in London with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The horse, which was injured in the crash, was later euthanized.
The roadway was closed for around three hours, but it has since reopened.
