A new kind of retirement living is being proposed for Seaforth.
Jessica Lunshof is the President and CEO of JL Retirement Living. She explains that through her career as a nurse both in ERs and Palliative Care, she recognized a gap in health care for seniors. The objective of her proposal is to fill that gap.
Lunshof says Inspired Living Seaforth will consist of 20 units for palliative and cognitive impairments, 60 independent living units, and 40 town homes for independent living. There will also be a Centre of Excellence, specializing in palliative care and cognitive impairments.
Lunshof says they will cater to people who are ready to retire but don't want to leave their rural community. She adds they've designated ten thousand square feet for the research centre for Western University, that will also include a rehab service, which makes it a good fit with the Seaforth Hospital because it is a rehab hospital.
Lunshof adds they're hoping to raise 21-million dollars for Inspired Living Seaforth. Seven million of that will be in equity and 14-million will be in debt.
