Ontario Trillium Foundation Clarifies Grant Program's Future

The Ontario Trillium Foundation is reassuring residents in Bruce and Grey Counties that other programs will continue to operate despite the suspension of the capital funding program.

Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker explained last week that the capital grant program funding is being rolled over into a program to celebrate Canada's 150th Birthday in 2017.

Ontario Trillium Foundation Vice President of Public Affairs Thomas Chanzy says concerned residents have been contacting the foundation.

"We got requests about the future of this program, so we are telling applicants for capital grants to just hold on and we will have more details later," says Chanzy.

"We understand people who were planning to apply for a capital grant were disappointed to learn about hte news, but we hope to have something to announce later this year," he adds.

He stresses other Trillium Foundation programs continue to operate.
