Owen Sound Man's Lifetime Dedication a Real Achievement

An Owen Sound resident has recently been honoured by the Province of Ontario with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Matt Evans is an Inspirational and Motivational speaker who, for the past 25 years or so, has been heavily involved in the group Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving (O.S.A.I.D.).

Evans was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his ongoing work in not only helping to create O.S.A.I.D but helping ti to grow and blossom over the years into what it has become today.

"I've worked with the organization for over two decades and worked with youth in the area and throughout the province; lots of local schools have been involved over the years and I guess I was just awarded for being involved for so long, you know, it's just a real honour," laughs a proud and humble Evans.

A few of the schools in Midwestern Ontario that have been actively involved in the O.S.A.I.D program include Kincardine District Secondary School, Goderich District Collegiate Institute, Mitchell District secondary School, Stratford Central Secondary School, Sacred Heart Catholic Secondary School and W.D.S.S. in Walkerton along with Bruce Peninsula District School in Lions Head to name a few.

Evans also performs motivational speaking presentations to local area high school students.
