UPDATE: Power Restored To Parts Of Huron And Perth

Perth Rd 122 has been re-opened between Perth Line 29 and 32.

Power is expected to be restored to areas of Huron and Perth after it was shut off as a precaution after reports of a person climbing a hydro tower south of Stratford.

From 8:45am:

There is a power outage affecting 4,563 Hydro One customers between Seaforth and Stratford and the surrounding area.

Hydro One crews have been notified. The utility lists 11am as an estimated restoration time but that is not set in stone due to the situation.

The number does not reflect the outage in the city Stratford which is served by Festival Hydro.

The OPP says there is an incident unfolding but have not provided any further details.

There is one tweet from an an emergency response official from Perth East. It states someone climbed a hydro tower in the Embro area. The power has been cut until the person can be brought down to the ground safely.

Perth Rd. 122, also known as Embro Rd, is closed between Perth Line 29 and 32.

Also, the Avon Maitland District School Board says it is business as usual at schools affected by power outage affecting parts of Huron and Perth.
