Huron Kinloss Recognizes Mayor Twolan For Great Lakes Work

Huron Kinloss Council has recognized Mayor Mitch Twolan's work to protect and restore the vitality of the great lakes.

Council awarded Twolan with a plaque to honour his work as chair of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative.

The Group offers a prominent voice to protect the quality of life for residents in the region.

Some of the highlights of Twolan's 2015-2016 term include attending the Climate Summit For Local Leaders in France in December.

He also was instrumental working with the agricultural sector to develop a water management strategy to reduce the flow of phosphorus off fields into water courses.

The group continues work to protect the lakes from the Asian carp, microbeads and pollution.
