Rural residents in the Township of Chatsworth could be eligible for lower insurance rates.
Fire Chief Mike Givens says the department completed a two hour water tanker shuttle accreditation test. And he says they are now certified to provide water for rural fire fighting.
“With this accreditation, rural residents with homes within 8 km of the fire station may be eligible for a rate reduction on their insurance,” says Givens.
He says the Intertownship Fire Department and The Chesley and Area Fire Department assisted with the accreditation.
Township of Chatsworth residents can download a copy of the Fire Department Water Tanker Shuttle Accreditation Certificate, if needed for insurance purposes, from www.chatsworth.ca or contact the fire department directly.
