Couch Surfing In Huron Leads To Injuries And Charges

A number of people were hurt while couch surfing near Dungannon.

Huron County OPP were called out around 2am on Sunday to Mill Line.

A lawn tractor was towing a utility trailer with a couch in the box. Eight young adults and youths had been seated on the couch and in the trailer. But while driving down a hill, the lawn tractor lost its brakes and it rolled into a ditch after the driver lost control. The trailer and couch rolled as well. The driver and two of the eight passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the lawn tractor, a 23-year old man from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawannosh, faces charges including driving while ability impaired, driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
